If you’d asked me 4 years ago where you thought I’d be now, it would not be engaged, looking forward to the future, and making plans to buy a house. But here we are, the happiest I’ve ever been, and engaged the day before my birthday.
We’d been planning to go abroad together for ages, and so when my birthday came around, it made sense to book a trip to Lanzarote for a week and just relax. With a fairly stressful job, it’s important to relax sometimes, and this holiday just provided the break we needed. Unbeknownst to myself, this plan had been in motion for a long time, and I was going to leave with a fiancé.
I must add, the hotel (H10 Timanfaya Palace) we stayed in was absolutely stunning. Two pools, one with a stunning waterfall, and a jacuzzi. The buffet restaurant was amazing with a different theme each night for the food. We also visited the a la carte restaurant on my birthday, and they even arranged a little surprise birthday cake for me which was so nice of them. There was a coffee and smoothie place, and a beach bar which also did lunch and snacks throughout the day.
Being right on the coast, we had the coastal footpath right next to our hotel, which we would walk down each night. This was also where I was proposed to, making that evening particularly special, and meaning we had something else to celebrate the next day on my birthday.
