Fun Fact. Until the other weekend, I’d never properly been to Bristol (besides the train journey to bath or the airport). As my sister’s in university in Bath, we thought we’d pop into Bristol for the day to do a little exploring. I’m definitely more of a city gal compared to being in the countryside (where I’ve pretty much always lived), so this was definitely a day of me being more in my element.
Our first stop was Bristol Museum & Art Gallery, which was honestly beautiful. I’m a bit of a sucker for art galleries and paintings, so always try to visit one in every city I go to, and Bristol was no exception. Not only was the building itself stunning, but so was every piece of art inside. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who’s artsy.
We then popped to the shops, where we first popped to TKmaxx. This is one of those places where one day you find everything you were looking for and more, and other times you find nothing of any interest. Unfortunately that day was the latter. Cabot Circus was our next stop, which was probably the biggest shopping centre I’ve been to.
We were peckish, so headed to Yo! Sushi for lunch. They’ve just started the conveyor belts again that they had before covid, so it was our first time since then (slight panic set in). Luckily you could still order through the website as well, so we did just that. Also, I can now say I do not like Sake. It was like a mixture of really weak white wine, and straight vodka - did not agree with my insides lol.
After lunch, we went on a little shopping spree (well I did). Now I love Bershka clothing, and have never seen an actual store of theirs (we don’t have any in Exeter), so have always done the shopping online. We popped in there, and I immediately found some items I loved, so I bought them. :) I’m definitely trying to buy more items which I’ll wear for a long time, which are better quality and eco-conscious, rather than the fast fashion items I used to buy. It is hard to do so though, as better quality clothing tends to cost a lot more.
After popping to Costa, we made our way back to Bath, and I realised that I definitely want to live in the city. I tend to go to Bath quite a bit anyway as I just love it up there. Part of me likes being in the countryside, as it’s quieter and less polluted, however living in a large town or city is just much more practical (and more expensive :/ ). In an ideal world I’ll be able to move at some point - we’ll see what happens :) - Liv xo
